UPDATE:

The Bayat Foundation - in partnership American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) - is pleased to announce the selection and matriculation of the second cohort of Bayat Scholars, five talented young Afghan men and women who have begun the four year Bachelor of Computer Science and Information Technology degree program at AUAF.


The Bayat Scholars Program is a full scholarship program for those ambitious and goal-oriented high school graduates interested in pursuing their higher education in the field of Technology. The mission of the Program is to identify, educate, and mentor a new generation of highly skilled and exceptional Afghan IT and Computer Science professionals, who will lead Afghanistan’s technological innovation and entrepreneurship in the years ahead to form a better society and nation.


All Bayat Scholar applicants completed a rigorous and fair evaluation and selection process that

included the following steps:

  • Online Application
  • English Primary Test
  • Duolingo Test
  • Panel Interview 

The Bayat Foundation is extremely proud to welcome the 2020 Bayat Scholars cohort, and will invest in education of Afghan youth to help build the future of our nation. All of our Scholars will have the opportunity to help build a bright future for themselves and for Afghanistan.


ELIGIBILITY

All Applicants:

  • Must be an Afghan citizen
  • Should be in a healthy physical condition
  • Must Have high school diploma (above 85% score)
  • Should have a good academic record
  • Should have good knowledge of English


Applicants are not eligible for the Bayat Scholarship Program if:

  • Do not meet the requirements of the program
  • They currently hold a bachelor degree
  • They are a Bayat Group employee
  • They are permanent residents of another country
  • If their application is deemed ineligible

** NOTE: once your application has been submitted, it cannot be changed.

REQUIREMENTS
(Application Materials)

All applicants must complete the application form and meet all requirements:

  • The applicants must complete the form and provide accurate information.
  • Applicants can fill the online Application Form through (https://www.bayatfoundation.org)
  • All applicants must stamp a 2-inch photo to their application form
  • A signature is required in the respective blank
  • Personal Statement and Letter of Motivation, included on form, must be completed
  • Attested high school diploma and Tazkira should be provided on one PDF file


SELECTION PROCESS

Applicants are required to complete the following:

  • Shortlist for English Placement Test
  • English Placement Test
  • TOEFL PBT
  • Interview
  • Document Submission
  • AUAF Enrollment Procedure
  • Award Ceremony

NOTE: Applicants who passed the English Placement test will need to pay 40$ for TOEFL PBT test and sign an agreement that, should they not pass, Bayat Foundation and AUAF is not responsible for the reimbursement of any fees.

WHAT IS COVERED?
  • Tuition fees for the AUAF undergraduate
  • English Placement Test
  • Books & Supplies
  • Housing (only for out-of-region scholars)

NOTE: The candidate will be responsible for all meals and travel expenses during the scholarship process and duration of the scholarship program. These are not the responsibility of, and will NOT be reimbursed by The Bayat Foundation or AUAF.

TERMS & OBLIGATION

All scholarship recipients must:

  • Continue to meet all qualifications of the AUAF academic course of studies
  • Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student
  • Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 throughout the duration of their studies
  • Take a minimum of 4 courses in a full semester and two semesters per year
  • Complete the program within four years

Note: A special committee of academic, business, and non- profit leaders will evaluate the qualifications of candidates who complete and fulfill the admission requirements of the Scholars Program online application. Selected applicants chosen to move on to the next stage, will be interviewed by an independent panel of international experts based outside of Afghanistan. No Bayat Foundation staff or officers will be involved in the final selection of Scholarship recipients.
